A comprehesive education programs designed to help patients understand and optimally manage their diabetes. The program includes a private consultation with a nutritionist plus three classroom visits
There are several different insulin pump models. Finding the model that best suites your individual needs and preferences is important. We use all the tools available to maximize the benefits of your pump.
The technology permits frequent glucose monitoring (about every ten minutes) without the need to perform frequent fingers stick checks. There are several CGM platforms available depending on the specific goals of therapy.
Ultrasound is the best instrument to visualize the anatomy of the thyroid gland. We are among only a few in Arizona that are ECNU (Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound)
RAI therapy is a safe and effect treatment for over active thyroid disease. RAI therapy is also an important adjuvant in the treatment of thyroid cancer. We have over 20 years experience in this field.
Independent onsite laboratory testing to make it possible to have the correct testing done in a timely manner.
DXA is short for dual x-ray absorptometry. The test painless and takes about 20 minutes. DXA is important in assessing the future risk of fractures and measuring the response to therapy. The x-ray exposure is about the same as a long airplane flight.

SADES is a AADE accredited program designed to help patients with type 2 diabetes to learn about, and better manage, their condition. The program has 4 sessions, each lasting on average 1-1.5 hours in length. The first class can be scheduled during regular hours with our dietitian and the following 3 (group) classes are then provided for 3 consecutive weeks.
Session 1 is a one-on-one class with a registered dietitian to assess your diabetes knowledge and provide you with baseline information on diabetes such as why blood sugars are increasing, target numbers for finger sticks and your hemoglobin A1c, and signs of highs/lows. Bring your glucose meter!
Session 2 is a class that focuses on nutrition and meal planning for diabetes.
Session 3 covers the medications often used to treat diabetes and the things patients need to know about these treatments.
Session 4 is a class that offers meaningful information on the prevention of diabetes complications. We will also focus on safe targets of blood sugar control and once more info about which foods raise your sugars so much. We also review during this session and answer any other questions participants may have regarding anything covered in the course. Bring your glucose meter!
