  • Southern Arizona Diabetes Education Services (SADES)

A comprehesive education programs designed to help patients understand and optimally manage their diabetes.   The program includes a private consultation with a nutritionist  plus three classroom visits

  • Insulin Pump Support

There are several different insulin pump models.  Finding the model that best suites your individual needs and preferences is important.  We use all the tools available to maximize the benefits of your pump.

  • Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Support

The technology permits frequent glucose monitoring (about every ten minutes) without the need to perform frequent fingers stick checks.   There are several CGM platforms available depending on the specific goals of therapy.

  • Nutrition Counselling

  • Thyroid Ultrasound- realtime

Ultrasound is the best instrument to visualize the anatomy of the thyroid gland.  We are among only a few in Arizona that are ECNU (Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound)

  • Radioactive Iodine Therapy

RAI therapy is a safe and effect treatment for over active thyroid disease.  RAI therapy is also an important adjuvant in the treatment of thyroid cancer.   We have over 20 years experience in this field.

  • In Office Laboratory Services

Independent onsite laboratory testing to make it possible to have the correct testing done in a timely manner.

  • DXA Scan (Bone Density Testing)

DXA is short for dual x-ray absorptometry.   The test painless and takes about 20 minutes.  DXA is important in assessing the future risk of fractures and measuring the response to therapy.   The x-ray exposure is about the same as a long airplane flight.

DPP

Diabetes Prevention Program

(coming soon)

SADES is a program to help patients with diabetes better manage their condition.  The program has four sessions.  Each session is about 1 hour in length about 1-2 weeks apart:

Session 1 is an individual one-on-one meeting to assess your diabetes knowledge, skills and needs.

Session 2 is a class that focuses on diet, nutrition and meal planning

Session 3 covers the medication often used to treat diabetes and the important things to know about these treatments

Session 4 is a class that offers meaningful information on diabetes complications and prevention

DPP is a program for people with PREdiabetes.  If you have diabetes this is NOT the program for you.  This program is designed to prevent Type 2 Diabetes and follows the recommendations of the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).  The program is a proven approach to help prevent diabetes and involves a serious commitment to your health as well as serious time commitment- 26 sessions over one year.
